Korba Project is located in the State of Chhattisgarh and the nearest Main Railway Station is Champa, which is around 45 Kms away from Korba Project. GoI in 1972 approved setting up of a coal-based fertilizer plant at Korba with Urea Production capacity of 4.95 lakh MTPA. However, erection of plant & machinery was kept on hold at Korba to see the performance of other two Coal-based plants at Talcher & Ramagundam.
After a series of CCEA decisions regarding revival of FCIL, in August 2011 CCEA decided to revive Korba Project through ‘bidding route’.
